Global Warming.

The question of global warming has received many varied reactions from the different members of the global society. It is due to global warming problem that the world is experiencing ever increasing atmospheric temperature levels among other changes in our climate system. There have been many global concerns for developed nations to reduce their production of green gases. It is to be noted here that the effects of global warming are mainly a negation to the existence of the human community. The only clear advantage is that it creates avenues for further research on how to adopt it as well as creating business for global warming adaptation techniques. It is based on this that this paper is written. The author gives a definition for global warming, its causes and effects on our worlds climate, and the solutions available for combating the problem.
Global warming can be defined as an increase in the earths atmospheric average temperature (Kevkin, 2009). Such increases in the earths temperatures have been closely linked to the constant changes of the global climates as been experienced in the world. Global warming has been mainly attributed to the increased production of greenhouse gases emissions, such as carbon dioxide in the world-mainly as a result of human activities, such as burning of fossil fuels and deforestation (Kevkin, 2009). It is to be noted here that such gases are highly responsible for compromising the effectiveness of the ozone layer which is responsible for control the amount of heating effects of sun radiations. Still to note is that such gases are also produced by industries, thus making industrialized nations main causers of global warming (Braasch, 2009). Another commonly claimed cause of global warming is the solar variation and its forcing effects on temperature changes (Weart, 2003). Such variations have been accused for increased solar activity which has a direct result of warming both the stratosphere and the troposphere and thus causing global warming.
Global warming has been associated with many effects in the world. The first and most evident is the ever increasing temperatures on the earths atmosphere. Other effects of global warming are that it is threatening the human community with more with extreme weather variations such as droughts, flooding and thus increasing erosions of our fertile soils (Kevkin, 2009). Global warming is seen as a major cause of ocean warming as well as melting of polar ice leading to rise in the sea levels and thus causing coastal flooding. Due to increased global temperatures, global warming leads to the melting of glaciers, artic and Antarctic warming (Kevkin, 2009). All this changes in the global climate have been claimed to lead to the increased cases of disease spreading plant and animal population declines as well as increased difficulties of realizing a sustainable agricultural sector in the globe.
The question of combating global warming is a thorny one mainly due to the fact that such call for the reduction of greenhouse gases production by industrialized nations (Weart, 2003). This means that their production ability and thus economic sustainability could be greatly compromised. It is due to this that the effective adoption of the Kyoto agreement on global warming has failed. This has led to the acceptance of adaptation to the problem as the only viable solution to the problem. Such increased the installation of air conditioning systems, majoring on strong infrastructural constructions in threatened zones, water conservation and rationing as well as the increased use of adaptive agricultural practices, such as organic farming (Weart, 2003). Another method which is seen to give a lasting solution to the problem is the geo-engineering which involves the modification of the earth environment to suit the human community.
In conclusion, it has been clearly established that global warming is a major threat to the future sustainable existence in the world. It is a major cause of unpredictable climatic changes across the globe. It is however clear that the human community can sufficiently adapt to the global warming problem. It should nevertheless to be noted that reduction in the production of greenhouse gases is the only seemingly ideal solution to the problem.
